ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Ø Tough times do not last – But tough people and companies do – The sudden and extraordinary financial crisis prevailing across the globe has necessitated a fresh look at the way we manage costs and expenditure
Ø Cost Reduction and Cost Control are closely related to profitability. They are integral parts of corporate efforts to improve productivity aiming at maximum output with minimum costs. Cost effectiveness, therefore, has become an invaluable tool for survival and growth in these times of Global and National Financial crisis.
Ø This programme would take the participants systematically through internationally accepted concepts and practices in Cost Control and Cost Reduction. Practical case studies would be used to apply the knowledge acquired on real life problems and situations. The participants would also be introduced to an elaborate checklist on the potential areas for effecting immediate cost reduction at their work place.
PROGRAM CONTENTS
Forenoon
Session-1: Cost Reduction: Meaning and Need; Application of Value Analysis, Value Engineering, Kaizen Costing; Continuous R&D.
Session-2: PRE-REQUISITE FOR COST REDUCTION AND TARGET AREAS FOR COST REDUCTION.
Afternoon
Session-3: Business Simulation – Box Manufacturing workshop where participants will do hands on work as operatives, supervisor, vendor & customer and see how Cost Reduction is a process related issue and can happen continuously across the value chain. The learning will be summarized by the participants themselves and this will be the take away for the group.
Session-4: Business Challenges for Indian Manufacturing Industries: Current competition – Pressure on manufacturing cost – Focus on Quality, Cost, Delivery, Flexibility and Service – Some International examples on Cost Reduction possibilities - Value Added and Non-Value Added activities.
