TAMIL NADU STATE BOARD (TNSB)
TNSB has been in the forefront of the Organization's growth.
Apart from acting as industry-representative, TNSB has established
a continuing interaction with major institutions such as the
Anna University. Through its Industrial Research & Development
Trust, TNSB has instituted a number of awards and endowments
at the University.
The Trust has extended financial assistance through interest
free loans to students undergoing engineering education.
The Trust pioneered the concept of Ideal Home Exhibition
as a marketing support for manufacturers of domestic goods
and services. This exhibition is now being organized in different
mofussil centers.
Tamil Nadu State Board and its I R & D Trust had a significant
role in major industrial expositions. INDEXPO'91 held during
June 1991 along with the Directorate of Industries and Commerce
and Tamil Small & Tiny Industries Association was a landmark
in creating awareness of the industrial potential in the State.
In 1993 and 1994 an ENTREPRENEUR FESTIVAL was held to provide
complete guidance to prospective entrepreneurs. AIMO (TNSB)
had a major role in an industrial exposition, viz; TECH-200
conducted in April, 1994 to commemorate the Bi-centenary of
College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai.
A food processing exhibition and seminar were conducted in
June 2001 called FOODTECH 2001.
Recently, AIMO has taken the initiative of starting a programme
to incubate Rural Innovations. The enormous knowledge in Rural
India will be 'incubated' and converted into commercial reality.
